February Means Flowers… And A Festive Future
February is the month when flowers begin to take center stage. Valentine’s Day replaces the drab and dreary winter landscape with the bright, rosy red promise of the upcoming spring. For landscapers and landscaping enthusiasts, February is a very special month for a very different celebration – the Northwest Flower & Garden Festival!
This glorious, week-long festival takes place in Seattle every year and is the “best annual event to gather ideas and inspiration for beautiful living spaces”. It’s an event where designers, vendors, contractors, installers and other professionals from the world of landscaping come together to showcase their creativity. Each year, following a predetermined theme, these landscaping experts create exhibits to inspire and delight thousands of visitors from all over Washington state (and beyond!). In fact, in 2019, Rooted in Landscape was associated with the design of a beautiful wine garden, inspired by a modern, luxurious resort them, with tropical touches (#Fakeation). Check out our photos below!
Whether you live in a chic apartment or a sprawling estate, at NWFGF, you’ll find something that fits your personal style. The festival also features interactive seminars and Q&As with designers and landscapers from around the country. These events are a great educational experience, and offer insights into the ins-and-outs of landscaping. Best of all, this is a kid-friendly, family event and admission for children under 12 is free! Now, your little ones can enjoy fun games and activities, while you soak in the colors and fragrances.
Sadly, due to Covid-19, the NWFGF has been cancelled in 2021. However, the festival is expected to return in all its glory in February 2022, so mark your calendars now!
But does this mean you’ll have to wait an entire year to create an inspired landscape? Should you go back to wandering the gardening aisle at your local home improvement store? Or (uh oh…) pester your annoying, green-thumbed neighbor, for advice??
Fortunately, the answer to all of these questions is…definitely not! You can bring your landscape visions to life right now. In fact, this is the perfect time to get a head start on re-imagining your outdoor spaces, with Rooted in Landscape’s professional design, installation and pruning services. Apart from our expertise, we bring our own experiences attending (and participating in) the NWFGF. This means you’ll have the benefit of fresh ideas and perspective when it comes to your outdoor project. Plus, we work with professional partner vendors and installers, so from concept to execution, your project will be in good hands.
